Carbon Reduction Plan requirements for the procurement of NHS goods, services, and works.
The NHS has published guidance on the requirements for suppliers in relation to Carbon Reduction Plans (CRP) from April 2023 in relation to NHS contracts.
The document is intended to be used alongside PPN 06/21: Taking account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the procurement of major government contracts.
Key messages for suppliers:
A CRP is a pass/fail element of tenders
A target of net zero by 2050 is acceptable at this time, but suppliers are encouraged to set this to 2045
The CRP must follow the guidelines as directed in the government technical standard
SMEs and VSCEs are NOT exempt. They may provide, in exceptional circumstances, reasons why they don’t have the data which will be assessed.
It is now ESSENTIAL to have a CRP, so take action to start your fully compliant Carbon Reduction Plan now with Track My Carbon’s simple and cost-effective solution to ensure that your organisation doesn’t lose out on essential contracts to help keep your business growing.
